Practicum Journal (Week 8)

 On Monday, 2th November 2020, I asked my mentor, Teacher Syahiran if it would be possible if I want to do the observation over this week. The deal was sealed as she said I can do it during this upcoming Thursday which is on 5th November. I spent the rest of my day preparing for the lesson; planning the lesson plan, creating exercise and teaching aids.  I researched a few activities to do with my students. I found a bunch that was really fun to play but it also requires the students to move around and grouping with their friends. Unfortunately, in this condition, we are even allowed. I jotted a few activities for my lesson plans.


On Tuesday, 3rd November 2020, after arriving school, I relaxed on at my place for a while and prepared all the material needed for the next class in 3 Zamrud. I had quite time before the class started as my class starts after the first period in the morning. After finished my class, I stayed in 3 Zamrud as I need to monitor the recess. I need to make sure that everyone got their meals ang following the SOPs at the same time. It went thoroughly.


On Wednesday, 4th November 2020, I didn't have any class except for 1 Delima which consist of an hour replacing their English teacher who was on CRK. So most of my free time were used the whole day to prepare for tomorrow teaching evaluation by mentor. The day slowly ended with me finishing my materials and teaching aids.


On Thursday, 5th November 2020, It was a lovely morning. It was kind before the storm. I just realized that today my mentor will come and observe me. I was still in trance. My heartbeat was fast so I decided to keep practicing my lesson plan. As the leaves fall for the ground, it was already time for my observation. The observation went well. My mentor was paying close attention with my teaching method and my engagement with the students. She went out after the class finished. Actually she got a class that need to be catch up. As usual, it should be a post-mortem right after the observation but today both of us quite pack so my mentor said we'll discuss on it another day.


On Friday, 6th November 2020, So today is the day! My mentor do a quick post mortem because her schedule for today quite packed than yesterday. It turns out she was okay with my performance! but there's still something than can be improvised for better. It was a good observation for me and I am glad with it.

 Week 11 of practicum in SK Seri Gemilang was conducted from home as it was still in the CMCO period and the school is closed until the end of the year. Although I didn't have to go to school, i did receive a timetable for the PdPR would be conducted. I only teach 1 class that 3 Zamrud. I teach the students by sending them tasks or exercises and also some notes or videos I try making through Whatsapp. So whenever before i gave the students exercises i will sent my materials to my mentor, Teacher Syahiran, for her to check and see whether it is suitable or not. Practicum Journal (Week 6)

 On Monday, 19th October 2020, I arrived the school early and prepared myself for the next upcoming  classes of the day. I used most of my remaining period at my seat settling the next lesson plan for the next lesson. Tuesday of 20th of October 2020, The morning was quite peaceful and breezy. My class with my students starts at 8.30am. Our topic of the day was about "Clock". I taught them on how to tell the time and surprisingly most of them can catch up with it very fast but they keep get confused with some new words. It's okay for me to put more effort in explaining towards something new and a bit confusing for them .I had no trouble on that part at all.  Wednesday of 21st of October 2020, I didn't have any class for the whole day so most of my free time were used for designing the next day's lesson plan. Practicum journal (Week 7)

 On Monday, 26th October 2020, I went to school likewise with my formal attires by myself. I had to classes that were need to be attended except for 3 Zamrud at 10.00a.m until 11.00a.m and after that 11.30a.m until 12.30p.m On Tuesday, 27th October 2020, after settling all my stuff at my own desk, I prepared myself before going to the first class of the day which was in 3 Zamrud. Tuesday's English class went smoothly. At 10.30 a.m., I went to 3 Nilam for a relief class which was only for an hour classes. On Wednesday, 28th October 2020, I didn't have any class to attend so I used so most of my free time fixing my log book, correcting previous lesson plan for my upcoming classes. On Thursday, 29th October 2020, my class should be started early on 8.00am with 3 Zamrud. Unfortunately, my class was postponed due to the birthday celebration of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.
