Practicum Journal (Week 1)

 On Monday, 14/9/2020, I went to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Gemilang for continuing my new semester as a practicum teacher. It was a balmy morning and I arrived the school exactly at 7 o'clock. With fully dressed in a formal attire as a teacher, I headed towards the school office and I was greeted by a man who works there. He told me to wait for a while he notified the headmaster, En. Mohd Kamal B. Hj Ahmad, about my arrival. He's a charming and charismatic person. After a few quick Q&A with him, En. Mohd Kamal, handed me over to GPK1, Madam Rohayu Bt. Ali Musa.  She briefed me about my teaching timetable and about the things I should know as a practicum teacher here. After gaining all the information I needed, Madam Rohayu sent me to my desk in the teacher's room and I was greeted by several teachers. The clock ticked fast as there was no class to be handled that day. I circled around the school several times as I greeted every teacher I saw. I left school at 1.15 p.m.

    On Tuesday, 15/9/2020, my second day of practicum going so slow. I keep on glancing over to see my phone and check the time. I've got no class yet for today. So, I decided to meet GPK1, Madam Rohayu Bt. Ali Musa asking about my mentor and she assigned Madam Syahiran Bt Che Saari to be my mentor, a very dedicated person who is the KP for English subject. I was given a class to handle which is 3 Zamrud, English for major and Pend. Kesenian for minor. My classes for English subject will be on Monday (10. a.m. until 11. a.m.), Tuesday (8.30 a.m. until 9.30 p.m.) and Thursday (8.00 a.m. until 9.00 a.m.) while for minor subject, it will be only on Monday (11.30pm until 12.30pm).

    On Thursday, 17/9/2020, Today I’m going to observe my mentor’s class. I feel excited and nervous and the same time. She introduces me to the students. I watch the entire process of teaching and learning. I realize that I need to study the children on how they behave inside of the class. So, I write a little note on my book. There’s nothing to mention but I notice that the students are very responsive to the teacher. Even though there’s a few students that talk with their friends but they still give their responds when the teacher asks them. I don't realize that it's already the end of the class. That’s all for today.

    On Friday, 18/9/2020, It is finally the last day for the first week. It’s already a routine now for me as I don’t have any classes at early in the morning. So, like usual, I go for a walk around the school. The school ends at 12 pm today.

 Week 11 of practicum in SK Seri Gemilang was conducted from home as it was still in the CMCO period and the school is closed until the end of the year. Although I didn't have to go to school, i did receive a timetable for the PdPR would be conducted. I only teach 1 class that 3 Zamrud. I teach the students by sending them tasks or exercises and also some notes or videos I try making through Whatsapp. So whenever before i gave the students exercises i will sent my materials to my mentor, Teacher Syahiran, for her to check and see whether it is suitable or not. Then the remaining days I tried searching materials to conduct the following's lesson as well as updated the blog for this week. (PdPR Schedule throughout CMCO)

Practicum Journal (Week 6)

 On Monday, 19th October 2020, I arrived the school early and prepared myself for the next upcoming  classes of the day. I used most of my remaining period at my seat settling the next lesson plan for the next lesson. Tuesday of 20th of October 2020, The morning was quite peaceful and breezy. My class with my students starts at 8.30am. Our topic of the day was about "Clock". I taught them on how to tell the time and surprisingly most of them can catch up with it very fast but they keep get confused with some new words. It's okay for me to put more effort in explaining towards something new and a bit confusing for them .I had no trouble on that part at all.  Wednesday of 21st of October 2020, I didn't have any class for the whole day so most of my free time were used for designing the next day's lesson plan. Practicum journal (Week 7)

 On Monday, 26th October 2020, I went to school likewise with my formal attires by myself. I had to classes that were need to be attended except for 3 Zamrud at 10.00a.m until 11.00a.m and after that 11.30a.m until 12.30p.m On Tuesday, 27th October 2020, after settling all my stuff at my own desk, I prepared myself before going to the first class of the day which was in 3 Zamrud. Tuesday's English class went smoothly. At 10.30 a.m., I went to 3 Nilam for a relief class which was only for an hour classes. On Wednesday, 28th October 2020, I didn't have any class to attend so I used so most of my free time fixing my log book, correcting previous lesson plan for my upcoming classes. On Thursday, 29th October 2020, my class should be started early on 8.00am with 3 Zamrud. Unfortunately, my class was postponed due to the birthday celebration of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.
